Community Guidelines

What this is

SwingFish is a non-profit community. Membership is free. Always has been, always will be.

In return, we expect you to contribute — help others, share ideas, write articles, give feedback, or just be useful. Lurking is fine. Freeloading while being a nuisance is not.

Infrastructure and development costs are covered by Mario Hennenberger. You owe us nothing except basic decency.

Behaviour

Fair warning: we talk like traders, not like a corporate helpdesk. Language is blunt, opinions are loud, and if the market just stopped us out, you’ll hear about it in exactly those words. None of this is intended to offend anyone — it’s just how we communicate. If direct, unfiltered conversation bothers you, this is not the community for you. Taking offence is your choice, not our problem.

That said — there is a line, and it’s obvious:

• Be respectful. Disagreements are fine. Personal attacks are not.
• No discrimination, hate speech, threats, harassment, woke and gender nonsense, or any of the obvious things that make the internet a worse place. If you have to ask whether it crosses the line, it does.
• No spam, no solicitation, no pyramid schemes, no chain letters, no self-promotion disguised as advice.
• No off-topic cross-posting. Say it once, in the right place.
• Pick a username that isn’t offensive. This shouldn’t need saying.

Content

• Don’t post copyrighted material unless you own it or have permission.
• Don’t post anything illegal under Singapore law or anything that infringes third-party rights.
• Don’t post malware, exploits, viruses, or anything technically harmful. This includes “jokes”.
• Everything you post is your responsibility. Your words, your problem.
• SwingFish does not endorse, verify or take responsibility for anything posted by members. Opinions are those of the author, not ours.

Moderation

This part is non-negotiable.

• Moderators can remove any content, at any time, for any reason, without notice or explanation.
• Moderators can ban any user, at any time, for any reason, without notice or explanation.
• Every situation is judged on its own merits. There are no fixed penalties, no escalation ladders, no “three strikes”. Discretion is case by case and moderation has the final word.
• There is no appeals process. No form to fill out, no inbox to plead to, no mechanism to overturn a decision. It does not exist by design.
• SwingFish is not obligated to moderate. We do it when we feel like it. You may encounter unmoderated content — that’s on you.
• If you see something that breaks these rules, email hello@swingfish.trade. We’ll deal with it when we get to it.

Your access to this community can be revoked at any time. It is a privilege extended to you, not an entitlement. By using any SwingFish service you accept that you will not hold SwingFish or its operator liable for any content posted by others, whether moderated or not. You will not bring legal action or claims of any kind against SwingFish arising from community content.

Your risk

You use this community at your own risk. If your participation causes us any costs, expenses, losses or damages — that’s on you, and you agree to cover it.

Failure to comply

Ban. Removal of content. Refusal of all services. No warnings required, no appeals entertained.
